The Change

It’s amazing how things change.

Change takes one season out and brings a new one in.

The motion makes it all seem a little more worthwhile.

Everything looks so much greater when you see it change.

I stand still for just a moment now.

I look around and see,

I see how different it could be.

I see how much greater it could be.

Do you see it too?

I know we’ve had our chats.

You’ve said that things could change.

You’ve even said that we need change around here.

When I get frustrated I see it too.

Now that the season’s done I can see it clearly.

I’m standing back from it all and

I can see what we can do.

Change.

That’s what we can do.

We could change it all,

And maybe it would change us too.

Change is what we need.

We all need it sometime.

Change is the motion.

Change makes it all look greater.

In the grand scheme of things,

Change is what it’s all about, right?

Because change is making things better,

And it’s what keeps us moving.

So change we must,

And change we will.

Or things will just stay the same,

And I know that you won’t stand for that.
