That Learning Curve

In baseball it’s a curve ball

In any other sport

I wouldn't know what to call it

I’m living the life of that curve ball

I should’ve seen it coming

But I didn't

Many things in life come unexpected

Life is unexpected

Real life anyway

Some things are planned

You can plan to a T

And still there’s that curve

We all make mistakes

And we learn from them

It’s all part of the curve

Friends are in our lives

Some will go

And some will stay

The ones that go

Were here for a reason

Or maybe a season

But in the end they were here

They were in our lives

When we needed them most

Sometimes you don’t even see it

Until it’s gone

And that’s the saddest part

Then you know

You have to face the fact

That they were here when they were needed

The ones that stay

Will forgive our mistakes

Because they’ll make them too

You’ll know they’re going to stay

When they forgive you

For the big and small

And when they make mistakes

You’ll be there to forgive them

For the big and small

No matter big or small

We’ll learn

Because that’s what it’s all about

It all comes down to one thing

It’s not the mistake

It’s the learning curve
