See You Later

In the beginning everything looked so far away

Now I’m looking back at the last few months

And they’ve passed by so quickly

How did they get away from us?

Here I am wondering if I’ll see you again

All I know is that the times I spent with you,

Were some of the best of my life so far.

In you I found a friend and so much more.

When the months were coming to a close

I started to think of a way to say good bye

I needed to say thank you for all that you did

And the good bye… was something else

How do you say good bye to a best friend?

What do you do when you don’t know what’s coming?

Well, I guess you never know what’s really coming.

And that’s the point of life in a sense.

Now I’m remembering the last few days

And tears come to my eyes

Because I miss having my friend around

I miss knowing that you were close.

It’s hard to go back to where we’ve been

And not see the same familiar face

Nearly every day for three months

I saw your face, heard your voice

The way it feels now to go back

To those familiar places

And not see you or hear you…

It feels so strange

When I came to say good bye,

You told me not to

Because it wasn’t good bye

It’s ‘See You Later’
