I awake in the dark
It envelopes me
Everywhere I turn
Is dark and cold
Fear creeps in
And I let it come
It swallows me
I do not falter
Anger comes next
Smothering me
Until I cannot breathe
I feel so alone
Unsure who to turn to
Surrounded by people
Yet no one is here
